2009 Kawasaki KX250F
The 2009 KX250F has been revised from top to bottom. There is no question that leaps and bounds in MX technology have been made and applied to this years KX250F. They lightened the frame and swing arm roughly 3.5 lbs over all, using a higher grade of aluminum enabling them to thicken the walls for more rigidity. They also managed to narrow the frame 6mm, improving ergonomics, aerodynamics, and not to mention a very sexy look.
The engine and transmission have also undergone some major advancements. Starting with the 249cc, liquid-cooled, four-stroke, four-valve, DOHC power plant, this year Kawasaki designed a new head that allows the engine to breath freely, including larger OD titanium valves and a straighter intake track creating less obstructions while breathing in, giving it noticeably more snap off the line, and a smoother mid and top range. The piston spins on a new crank which is completely redesigned and has more weight down low witch gives it smooth operation with little vibration, even at high rpm’s. Also noticeable is the extremely smooth shifting action, which is credited by stronger and wider gears.
Overall, this is an incredible piece of machinery that in my opinion sets the bar for its competitors. Out of the box, this bike is as close to race ready as you can get.
